The City Bus

For weeks Henry has been spotting buses as we drive around claiming, "I want to ride on the city bus". So, today we made his month! Henry, Lucy and I took a ride on the #11 to Point Defiance. We learned it doesn't actually take us all the way to the zoo, but it does drop off at a park right in front of Anthony's. Lucky Mom. So I ordered some fish tacos, we walked around watching aqua construction and waited for the bus home. What a morning!

Nancy Drew

1. If you haven't seen this movie yet, see it. It is equivilant in fun to The Sandlot.

2. If you haven't seen The Sandlot, your crazy. See it too.

3. There is a scene in the new Nancy Drew movie where she is bribing a records worker with a Blonde Brownie. I must have one.

Does anyone have a good Blonde Brownie recipe? I want a thick, moist, with white chocolate chips recipe. I attempted my own version tonight and failed miserably. Anyone who has had my baked goods before, is not shocked as I admittedly suffer in this area of the kitchen. Please help!

Three Cheers for Courtney!

Malia, Heidi and I visited Courtney today and Henry and Will got to play with Raleigh, Adelaide and Chandler and Lucy got to see her new best friend Hayden as well. My hands were full, so a camera was not on hand, but the picture is a recent one of Courtney and Mike's Triplets. After interrupting their day today for several hours, I have to give at least a small kuddos to Courtney. Raleigh, Adelaide and Chandler are very cute, kind, smiley and fun kids. They are also almost 1 and are BUSY! So, here's to Courtney - Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! You do an amazing job with them and we apprecaite you taking in all our brood as well today. We love you!

Kindness

Brought to tears today by a bear and three hangers. A gift arrived today from my Grandma Mimi and Grandpa Bobbie's best friends of 50+ years, the Gavins. The last time I saw these friends was at my Grandpa Freeman's funeral and again, lost my composure. They just do that to me! They are in the middle of a move to Terwillger Plaza, where John's Grandma and Grandpa also chose to retire. In the move, they found some treasures and "just thought of us". The hangers are 90 years old and have sweetly hung many generations of children's clothing in their family. The Steiff bear is the same bear they bought as a gift for me when I was born. The Gavins represent a special breed of kindness, rarely found. We love them and I am touched and inspired today by thier act of kindness. Thank you Gavins.
