Look out Pixar

I lost the Toy Story Disc 1 for a while and we only had the "Making of" Disc 2 in the car.  This came home from school yesterday in his backpack.  Looks like Henry Mc wants to be a computer animator, or a competitive juice drinker.  Either way, I'll be proud.

Book of the Month (September: Lucy's Choice)

Love this book.  I found it at the Goodwill near us and thought the title was fitting, but when I got it home I remembered why the Frances books have stood the test of time.  In this one, Frances' mother warns her to be careful playing with a certain friend.  And after being duped again by her sneaky little pal she learns about payback and that "being careful is not as much fun as being friends".  I love it.

Bye Bye Brodie

This is how I will always remember you.  Our smart, stubborn, and incredibly dutiful dog.  You were the best dog any of us have ever known.  We will always love you and miss you, our Brodie dog.

Rest

We all need it.  Some are too stupid to take it...me.  At least these two have the right idea.  I love them.

We're Lit

Our electricians finished with a complete re-wire of 2 stories and a pre-wire for the third story yesterday.  Inspection is scheduled for this morning (fingers crossed).  These are two of my favorite newly lit locations in the house.

Hard Core or Hard Up

What's the difference?  8 ladies propositioned for a night out in Tacoma on a Wednesday, 6 RSVPd yes, 3 actually showed.  For me, it was like medicine, like the kind your doctor prescribed for that c-section you had 4 weeks ago and you don't really need anymore but still have a few left of.  I digress.  Ok, so what?  So, I have 4 chins in this dark photo, Brit had a baby hidden on her right hip and Malia had her faced waxed before dinner.  We're not perfect.  Who is?  But we needed a night out, in whatever form we could get it.  We took it.  Thanks pals.  I love you both to the ends of the earth.  Now I'll be waking my kids up to give the babysitter a ride home.  That's life, the good life.

Cross Country

Henry ran his first 1/2 mile race in 4:39:39.  What a jock.

A Self Portrait by Henry Mc

I'm glad he thinks he's as cute as I do.

This One's Getting Married

Can you believe it?  Thanks for taking her off our hands Kelcey.  Meg's wedding is about 4 weeks away and we've been having all kinds of pre-wedding fun.  This taken of the wild bride at her first of two showers.  I know she is enjoying the ride, and I'm having a good time watching it.  Love you Meg, can't wait to see it all come to be!

What does pot sticker salad for 200 look like?

Made this salad for a friend's at-home wedding (a very good friend obviously).  I am pot sticker sick.  Guess what's not for dinner this week...or next?

Teaser

I bought a bay of lockers at the Re-Store in Ballard yesterday...and a few other things for the basement to be revealed later (likely much later, as they require some creativity to put to use, but were too cool to pass on)  These 6 lockers (no. 95-100) will greet our shoes and coats and backpacks when we come home.  A happy homecoming for the neat freak.

I have 4 very large walls to paint tomorrow before the electrician comes to finish his work Tuesday.  The polished concrete floors are wearing a coat of brown paper awaiting the mess of drywall.  There is still much to do, but I am hopeful things will move along quickly in the next week or two.  In the mean time, this is what I am looking at tonight.  I'm a lucky girl.

Henry Mack

There is another Henry M in his Kindergarten, so his teacher and our friend, Mrs. Larkin has titled our guy, "Henry Mack" this year.  We know "Uncle Mack" will be proud.  Here's to our first day of school, and yours!  Hip Hip!
