My Job

I don't talk about my 'other/real/corporate' job very often, probably because it's not really much of any of the adjectives listed here.  However...I like it.  I do think it's important.  And my boss is a dream.  I am a fireman of sorts, putting out educational domestic fires between students of families in-need and their government subsidized tutors (who happen to work for us).  Sound boring?...well, read this.  This is the kind of e-mail I get at least twice daily.

"Also - I don't think I ever mentioned it, but one
of my students had an Alaskan grey wolf that sometimes liked to chew
on my arm while I was tutoring - not something I ever expected when I
took the job! She never bit me but it was sort of disconcerting..."

Not sure what is more wacky:

• I am not at all surprised to be reading this
• The tutor had never mentioned it before (maybe she's a Twilight fan)
• I expect to read something similar in about 2 hours from another tutor

We spent our 10th Anniversary on the deck, at our fire, in my Mom's wedding dress, wearing my new necklace (thanks Jack!) with jar margaritas and some good friends.  Because let's be honest, it takes a village...and a margarita.  Happy Anniversay Jack.  To quote our 'photographer' Brit, "If this is what a decade looks like, I'm excited." for the rest.  Love you. Paper Straws

Excited to use these paper straws in mason jars for cocktails tomorrow night...testing out for use at my cousin's shower in a few weeks.  They'll house margaritas tomorrow and spiked lemonade at the shower.  Easier than I thought to punch a hole in the mason lid with a regular old paper hole punch.  Drink up!

Happy Mother's Day

Woken at 6:30 with coffee, chocolate covered gummy bears, flowers and this gem from Henry.  I love it.  I love them.  I am a whirlwind, a busy lady, a list maker, I can get a lot done in one day.  But the two short people in our family are my greatest accomplishment.  I know that.  I hope they always know I feel that way.  Happy Mother's Day Moms!  You are loved.  Read this.  Think you will like it.
