We've hit a bunch of open houses and still a few more to attend. I'd highly rec. to my pals with kids to do the same. Whatever we thought we knew, we didn't.
Best Lesson Learned: The choice of a school for Henry should not be based on what we think we can or want to afford, or how much we liked the teachers, or how much we didn't like the clutter in a classroom, or how big the class size was or how much we thought we would like the other parents and kids at a particular school...it should be based on how well Henry will do there academically, socially and otherwise. The decision to put his needs above our likes and dislikes is a valuable lesson, especially for me. Thanks for the wisdom on that Jack.
Wish us luck! And special thanks to Malia and Brit for watching Lucy during these events. Although we love our little sister, we did not need her input. :)

Meg, your "what course options do you offer in math for middle schoolers?" was an enlightening question...thank you so much for that advice.
Would LOVE if our boys could go to school together but at the very least, I hope they will remain buddies as they grow up.
Amen, sista. So much drama around preschools and really, when you find one that fits your kiddo, it may be entirely different than where you thought you would be! xoxo
Liz, I remember going through this very stressful time. The place where we thought we would always go gave me bad "mommy gut" feelings. So off we went in search of some place that would be a better fit.
Here is another thought to ponder: We put all this thought and stress into finding a school for the first child, then when it is time for the second child to go they just go where big brother went becasue they have met a lot of their friends and teachers. :)

meg...how about you come and open a school for just our kids? nightmare?
Thinking about you guys as you walk down this path :).
