Does anyone know anything about these guys? Is this a bad idea? What do they need? Are they nice or nasty? Will they survive a Winter with heat lamps outside? Am I crazy?
I had them too and I agree they're kinda gross. And both of mine just died for no apparent reason and we were left with a huge ugly cage and no bunnies (nobody loved having them enough to replace them). But I would pet and admire them if they were at YOUR house :)
I had 2 also. Whitey and Grey-y (guess which color they were??). I loved them, but my favorite, Whitey, once bit my ear so badly that I still have a dent in the cartilage where he/she took a nibble.
A friend had one in junior high and it was a miniature one and he would hop around and poop everywhere. Same in Bailey's classroom last year. I don't like cleaning up after animals enough to do that. But, I agree that they're darling.
OK, Ba Humbug. I'm not getting a whole lot of support here: I got a "gross", "kinda gross", "nobody loved them...", "a little gross", and a "bit my ear" so I guess I got my answer...and will sadly put this idea away for the time being.
Reading these comments made me laugh (just a little, sorry Liz!) And, I have to say - animals in cages... Meh. But how about a kitten? They're cute...and CLEAN! :)

I had them and I have to agree-a little gross. The raccoons got into ours....mom had to clean up before us kiddos woke to find what was left.
