Seriously. Reminder, he's 5. I misspelled half these words writing this blog post. Anyone else think this is wackadoo? How did I ever make it through school? I feel so unprepared for 5th Grade homework at the kitchen table now.

Just tell yourself "I can do it, I can do it" ...you'll be fine Liz. How's John's spelling skills?
Omg. Pre-k can't come soon enough. Note to self, work with Hayden on writing her name, then spelling Antarctica.
Wow. Bailey is in 1st grade and her list this week was all about the apostrophe. I'm, I'll, Can't, Don't... The longest word I think she's ever gotten was 5 letters. Wow. I'm not joking when I say a BUNCH of my 6th graders couldn't spell those words properly. Is it because I don't cover that curriculum? Nope! We studied many continents and made maps and many were misspelled.
Those are serious words! Most kids can't read those let alone spell them!
So I think the real question is, which one of you is going to tutor my kid? Clearly I'm ill prepared. He already tells me how to get places in the car. You all know how challenged I am in this area. Luckily John's genes in this category as so strong, even Lucy asked the other day when we hit the freeway headed to Lakewood, "Why are we going toward Tookies?" Thank God.
this is good to know. it sort of leads me to believe that we are better off just sticking with our easy peasy little public school program. i am balking at the fact that ava has to know 50 sight words by the end of kindergarten. quite confident that what you are dealing with is way out of my league. good luck liz!
If you teach him how to spell G-o-o-g-l-e, he can learn anything!!
