Ode to Zoe

Always hard to say goodbye to a friend like Zoe. We are all a little heartbroken over her departure today, and are trying to find a delicate way to tell Brodie. :) They were born 2 weeks apart and spent loads of time together, truly best friends. Zoe, you will be missed, but remembered as a loving and loyal diva. Happy Trails!

A Haircut for Henry

Thank God! I'm sure everyone who has seen Henry over the last month has thought to themselves, "man that kid needs a haircut". Well, we had been growing out his blonde surfer doo for our trip to Hawaii in 2 weeks. But after a second request by Henry to cut his hair, this time put so sadly from the backseat of the car on the way to Tookie's, "Mommy, I have hairs in my eyes", I got to cutting as soon as we landed. My Dad caught some good photos. It's hard for me to keep a straight face or hand while cutting his hair. He says things like, "I think I will look good." or "mmm, that feels wierd" or "let's don't cut my ears", which can be tricky with those Freeman ears. So, still shaggy and still very Henry, at least his hairs are not in his eyes now. Phew.

Happy Valentines Day

Like many with kids last night...we ate in. Although we did buy some special market seafood for a fancy dinner, we didn't realize Henry would cut into our portion. Truly a lobster lover - Cristina would be so proud!

Why 2 is better than 1

For all our pals who just had or are about to have their second.

In no particular order:

- matching pjs

-a good helper, "Henry can you bring Lucy a toy?"

-someone to blow bubbles for

Little Edwards Comes Today

UPDATE 2:

One of the reasons it is so easy to love your nieces and nephews: they look EXACTLY like your kids. Come on - look at that chin!

UPDATE 1:

Anna Caroline Edwards is born!
6 lbs 5 ounces, 19 inches

To which Henry replies, "where is she?" and Lucy cheers, thank God it really is a girl!

Ali, Chris and Simon are having their baby girl this morning and Uncle Jack gets to visit as his job takes him to Eugene today. I can't wait to come see her on my own in a couple weeks and try to help out a bit sans kids. Anyway, if you're a thinker or a prayer, give Ali and all hers some thoughts or prayers today!

Scurvy Dogs

Thanks Tookie, Grandpa, Malia, Chris and Will for loads of beach fun.
