Daddy Goes Shopping

Jack's work takes him from one end of I5 to another and occasionally he stops in at the Outlets in Woodburn, OR. These are the highlights of the 2 bags full of clothes he came home with lastnight. Mom may have never 'authorized' these purchases, but from Dad, how can you say no? Pretty nice Daddy.

Tookie and Grandpa

Letters from Grandpa Mike

My dad sends these often and they are obviously very special to Henry and Lucy. Henry keeps his in a Superman lunch box and sometimes at bedtime asks to read them instead of a book. Growing up with letters like this, small books written and illustrated for us, pencil drawings of us as babies, and his way of seeing both the art in science and science in art is one of the top 5 things I love about my Dad. An early Father's Day shout out.

A thank you to these two is long overdue. My Mom and Dad took Henry and Lucy to the Beach House while I went to Charlotte and they had the best time, so I could too! We love you guys over here and are looking forward to another visit from Tookie on Monday. We just can't get enough!

High Five, Moms

Inspired after a very sweet e-mail from a friend (you know who you are girl!) Today's post is a Blog High Five to Moms. You know you earn one of these every day, well today you'll get one from me.

PS. This is the best high five photo I could find under my search, "geeky mom's high fiving".

Party Babes

Rob McDougall, photographer for hire. Just kidding, but he should be. I took about a million pictures on Sunday and not a single one was as good as the dozen he sent me. So I am pirating them. Arg matey. "How many calories did you say are in this thing?"

"Oh, who cares?"

"What if I tiger crawl to she's a cold hearted snake? Then will I get some attention on my sister's Birthday?" Done Henry, you are the most awesome.

Lucy has only seen me mow the lawn in my tutu twice, I don't know where she got this idea.

Happy Birthday Will

So funny but before I caught myself, I had this post titled, "Happy Birthday Bill". What? Anyway Will, I love you and promise not to call you Bill. Thanks for sharing your special day with Lucy. Sweet photo of the 'Will face' captured by Rob McDougall.

Megan and Kelcey

Thanks for coming to visit you two - we loved every minute of it!

And below, the resemblence is more amazing to me every day. If I hadn't watched them pull her out of me, I'd think she was Meg's. They're both pretty cute, though aren't they?

Here's to You Lucy

"Today," laughs the Bird, "eat whatever you want. Today no one tells you you cawnt or you shawnt. And today, you don't have to be tidy or neat. If you wish, you may eat with both hands and both feet. So get in there and munch. Have a big munch-er-oo! Today is your birthday! Today you are you!" - Dr. Suess

"I wish my thighs looked cute like that." -Cindy Payne

Sneak Peak Birthday Girls!

Lucy and three of her 'bestest girlfriends' are turning one this summer and I've been knee high in tulle over here. These are wild tutus, but I think will suit these 4 perfectly! I'm thinking about making some more and listing them on etsy. Thoughts?

The Guest Nest

Megan's coming! Just about through in here - maybe a few things need to be painted, but overall, I'm calling it done. It's a tight fit, but a comfortable niche, and the tiny TV has built in DVD. Come see us anytime!

And you have to pass through our laundry room to get to the guest nest, but I promise to keep that fairly tidy for you guests too.

Highlighter High

Lulu got into my Highlighters while I was working and thought they were the coolest. I think she is the coolest.

Charlotte - Thanks

Well, what a fun three days? Thanks Jessica, Jeffrey and Gabrielle for morning coffees, showing me around town, some fun shopping, painted toes and lots of delicious food. I can't wait to see you all again soon, but am so glad I got a chance to smooch on Gabs before she got too big to resist! :)

Charlotte - Day I

Jess and Gabrielle - Beautiful Mama, Beautiful Baby.

Oil Painting from 1890 at Antique Show ($140) Should have bought this as Jeffrey said, to save the cost of having a portrait painted of Henry. Amazing.

Nachos at Lupie's Cafe.

Collective Loot from Antique Show - Day 1.

Jeffrey and Gabrielle - "Hey you little pooper!" - Gitomer

LOVED being here. More tomorrow.

Teething and Monkey Butt

Lucy has been suffering these past few days with a bad acid poo rash, easily healed with a little air and powder, until the next poop that is. TMI, I know, but this is for you Moms out there that might be experiencing this now or in the future. I have searched far and wide on the WWW for an answer to the tiny buttox that has been red and sweating blood at our house (Yes, I said sweating blood, that's acid). What I have learned is this: babies who are teething produce and swallow more saliva, making their poop very acid...like the Joker acid-vat acid. Lucy is teething for sure, just got her 3rd tooth today after naptime. But she is not drooling a ton. Which means, she is probably swallowing all that drool. Poor babe. Moxie is a cool lady who coined the phrase, "monkey butt"...a sure sign to me that this is what we are dealing with.
Below is Henry's suggested solution for Lucy's Rash ("go ahead and drool girl!")

Boho Lucy

This window and curtain cord (albeit a choke hazard) is the best toy in our house...
