$11, 2 months and 2 hours

I paid $8 for the headboard and footboard at Goodwill.  It took me 2 months to track down the $3 "slide-in" side rails.  2 hours in painting and the deal was done.  I love completing this project because I feel strangely passionate about items like this not ending up in a dump, it really is a beautiful bed, it's true they don't make things 'now' like they did 'then', it cost us $11, Lucy is in the clouds and Henry is jealous. Amen.

Love the ingenuity of your mind and the follow through of your personality - searching until you found the rails to finish the project for Lucy. Nice work Liz.

I love you, Liz. When Hayds moves to a big girl bed, this will be the exact type of bed we will be searching for. Only, God knows, I do not have the patience like you. xoxoxo

You are a dynamo. What a perfect little girls room. People like you inspire me. Of course, I don't get too far with the inspiration. But know that I think you're really, really cool. And that's all that matters right?

Very nice, Liz! I believe this is the exact bed I dreamt of as a little girl... Lucy is lucky and it looks like she knows it :)

You're such an inspiration! Your post about that piece you found on the side of the road and refinished continues to be an inspiration to me. I picked up a desk at Goodwill last week for Bailey and painted it on Thursday. I will be putting it in her room today and am very excited about it.

WOW this is beautiful!
Add me and Gabrielle to the "jealous" list for this one. What a dream find. And your perfect painting touch took it over the top. WAY TO GO!

Okay, can you just be my personal shopper? I'll send you a list of things we're looking for and you scout them out at dumpsters/goodwill/value village/sidewalk sales?

On the current list is:
Daybed with trundle &
Mirrored dresser

Lovely job Liz, perfect for Lucy! Heard a rumor that may make hunting for your furniture projects a little simpler. My mom heard that Goodwill might be turning one of their Christmas stores into just a furniture store and the shop on 6th Ave didn't have a single piece of furniture this morning so rumor may be true. Could be one stop shopping in the future.
