First Thing's First

I'd been wondering what I would choose as my first project in this new house, a large-scale, multi-level project to say the least.  Well, we elicited help from some professionals to:

1.  Install new electrical panel (ours was the federal pacific variety that tended to spark and set fire to your walls at night)
2.  Install new water heater (ours was providing 1-3 minute warm showers)

But my first choice of 'to-dos' was to reinstate an old rusty basketball rim I had bought for $1 at a garage sale about 4 years ago in the hopes that someday I would see it in all it's former glory.  Well, obviously...I had my project.  A little sawdust and paint speckled hands later, here she is.

In other news, yesterday I filled up an entire 60 gallon yard waste container with dandilions in an effort to get ready for the 4th of July.  I pulled those puppies from their mother root by root.  In the end, the joke was on me.  Now the lawn is full of holes.

John also got this bad boy up and running and we've already enjoyed a few late night fires out on the deck.
