Thank God Graham turned 7 yesterday, so we could climb in celebration.  Surprising amounts of fun were had.

Spring Break 2012!

Expecting an MTV link?  Wrong blog.  This year, we went to the beach.  John and I got the flu pretty early on in the week, but were determined to live it up for the kids.  We made Easter brunch, complete with fry-daddy donuts, eggs benedict and a waffle bar.  There were 6 adults in attendance.  We did it anyway.  We rode bikes to Beards Hollow and saw swamp snakes.  We ran with Maggie on the beach.  We putt putted.  We buckled illegally while we brought an antique cabinet back from Astoria (new game storage).  You name it, we did it.  Now, I have pneumonia.  Seriously.  Any wonder?  Of course not, but it was worth it.

Lego Love

I LOVE this Lego ad.  I saw it here in a pretty cool article, "25 things you want your daughter to know".  I was just complaining to one unlucky Lego employee last week (unlucky in having to deal with me that is) about the new Lego's for girls, called Lego Friends.  I told her I didn't like that they had boobs and blow-outs.  She told me, studies showed that girls wanted to play with dolls that they thought were pretty or identified with.  I told her that was exactly my point.  I don't want my three year old identifying with anything more than the sweet, original, flat-chested, pony-tailed Lego women put out in the 80's.  And now that I think of it, that pretty much describes me as well, so maybe I'm just being a hater.
