Nancy Drew

1. If you haven't seen this movie yet, see it. It is equivilant in fun to The Sandlot.

2. If you haven't seen The Sandlot, your crazy. See it too.

3. There is a scene in the new Nancy Drew movie where she is bribing a records worker with a Blonde Brownie. I must have one.

Does anyone have a good Blonde Brownie recipe? I want a thick, moist, with white chocolate chips recipe. I attempted my own version tonight and failed miserably. Anyone who has had my baked goods before, is not shocked as I admittedly suffer in this area of the kitchen. Please help!

I don't believe that it is your baking expertise. I've had some of your delicious muffins. You just need more good recipes! Hope someone shares a good "Blonde Brownie" recipe from someone. It sounds delicious.

Hi Liz,

I check in to see how you are doing frequently. We have had a very busy summer here I am looking forward to school starting to get back to routine. I have a box sitting here for Lucy's hopfully I will get it to her before she graduates from school. Ha Ha

Anywhere here is my favorite Blondie Brownie recipie. I always have to have it when I go to Applebees

Applebee's Walnut Blondie with Maple Butter Sauce
Dough
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup butter or margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Sift flour, add baking powder, baking soda and salt. Sift again. Add chopped nuts. Mix well and set aside.

Melt butter. Add brown sugar and mix well. Add egg and vanilla extract. Blend well. Add flour mixture, a little at a time, mixing well. Stir in white chocolate chips. Spread in a 9-inch square pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean or with slightly fudgy-looking crumbs. Serve with ice cream and Maple Butter Sauce.

Maple Butter Sauce
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Combine syrup and butter, cook over low heat until butter is melted. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved. Add walnuts, if desired.

Serves 4.

Hi Lizzie,

Had my first blonde brownie a few months back at Bliss Spa, and it was a dreamy experience(even more so than the facial:)They wouldn't give out their recipe but found another on msn. These are gorgeous.

2/3 cup butter, melted
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup shopped pecans

Mix together the melted butter and sugar. Beat the eggs and add.
In a separate bowl, mix together the other ingredients then add to the egg mix. Spread in to a 13x9 pan and bake at 350F for 25 min.
